Yoga with Lauren

Please join me for in-person or virtual group classes each Tuesday from 9-10:15am. We will explore a smooth blend of strong standing postures, ecstatic movement, restorative poses, Kundalini (life force energy) kriyas (a sweet combo of chanting, meditation, asana, and breathwork), and deep rest.
We will develop our core strength, vitality, and self awareness. The more we practice, the stronger, more balanced, and healthier we will become.
This practice is open to all. Modifications and props are available depending on the day and your level of experience.
I also offer one on one and small group yoga sessions by appointment at our new studio on South Mill St. in Lexington. Please be aware we do have a flight of stairs to climb.
During our practice and in the days following, it is normal to experience and move through an array of emotions and sensations. This is simply a matter of our brain, nervous system, and entire being responding to the increased flow and shifts in our energy, fluids, and organs of the body.
Open to All Bodies
Tuesday classes are held in-person at 309 N Ashland Ave. Suite 180 Lexington, KY
My Personal Why…

I took my first yoga class when I lived in New York for a short time in 1997. I loved it and felt so pleased that I could “do” all the poses yet woke feeling awful the next day. Years later I realized my flexibility allowed my body to make the shapes but I lacked the core strength to hold them with integrity. That, along with all the fresh energy running through me, was also giving me a much needed and terribly uncomfortable detox of stress hormones.
I’m a creative explorer and a scientist. I need to play and understand things for myself. Yoga has always felt like a curious experiment and a literal life saver many times over.
After that first yoga class, I took a break for a while and around 1999 got into the martial art of Aikido (The Way of Harmony) as well as Tai Chi. These practices provided a profound re-entry into my body and eventually led me to a different style of yoga that felt more aligned with my special needs. Thankfully there are so many disciplines and approaches to choose from in this vast sea of movement modalities.
Yoga has helped me to better manage my breath, emotions, changing body, and remain present through so many life challenges and transitions including pregnancies, births, parenting, divorce, C-PTSD recovery, neurodivergence, car accidents, and numerous conditions related to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (extreme hypermobility), and most recently peri-menopause. And I’m really happy to say that most days I feel really amazing in my body, way better than I did a few decades ago when I began this journey.
I am eternally grateful for all of my teachers and the evolution of my daily practice as I continue to explore more within myself and with my students. It would be my honor to have the opportunity to share these practices with you too
